Videotape
Our videotape transfer process is meticulous. First, we inspect each item to ensure labels are intact and the tape is not twisted, damaged, or off the spool. If your tape needs repairs, we will attempt to make any that are possible. Generally, we are able to extract and digitize all or most of data even from damaged media. If we find that the damage is beyond repair, we will contact you to let you know.
To extract video, we connect a professional video machine to a digital converter box. Our system ensures lossless conversion of analog videotapes to digital media. From here, we import your new digital files to our computer. We save your final video files as MP4 movie files. You’ll receive your files on a flash drive, which you can play on your computer or smart TV (via USB port).
Audio Conversion
Our audio cassette and reel-to-reel transfer services use industry best practices. As with videotape, we verify that labels are intact as we check for twists, tears, or damage to the source film. If your media requires repairs, we will address any damage and let you know if we are unable to extract your media. Once repairs are complete we begin the digital transfer process.
We use professional equipment to play your analog cassettes and reel-to-reel audio for transfers. As your analog media plays, a digital converter box makes a lossless digital file in our computer. We convert your files to either .Aiff or .Wav to ensure high-fidelity for your digital files. You’ll receive your digitized audio on a flash drive. You can play your digital audio files on your computer, stereo, or smart TV (via USB port).
Types of formats we transfer are analog audio cassettes and reel-to-reel audio tapes to digital.
