Digital Transfer Services make digital copies of analog (physical) media such as film, videotape, or old photos. David Fox, Photographer’s Digital Transfer Services can help you transfer the following media:

  • 8 mm and Super 8 mm film
  • Photos, slides, and negatives
  • VHS tapes, and audio cassettes

We will scan your media and provide you with digital versions. You can store your digital files on a flash drive, save them on your computer, or transfer them to the cloud. With digital files, you can share old memories with family and friends.

At David Fox, Photographer’s Digital Transfer Services, every item we handle receives careful attention. We have extensive experience working with both analog and digital media. Because the process of restoring and preserving old analog media is delicate, experience counts. Our team is detail-oriented and dedicated to best practices. David is a professional photographer and Greta is highly skilled at digital production. Working together, we restore and preserve analog originals and provide full-service digitization. Our digital transfer service is not an automated, one-size-fits-all model. We understand that each transfer is unique, which is why we use a personalized approach. You can trust us to produce high-quality digital records of your most precious media.
 

David Fox, Photographer’s Digital Transfer Services is a home-based family-owned business. Unlike automated services, we customize our process for each client. Our team takes the time to listen to understand your preservation needs. Then we organize your media and develop a transfer plan designed for your project. This ensures each transfer produces high-quality results.

For us, this business is personal. We’ve captured so many memories of our own family on film and video over the years. Now, we offer a full range of customized solutions to restore, preserve, and digitize yours. Our goal is to share our expertise so you can preserve and share your precious memories.

Place your originals in a clean, intact box or clean, sturdy bag protected with padding or bubble wrap. If shipping, package with care to prevent damage, label each side of the package “FRAGILE.” Be sure to ship with tracking and with the signature required.

We will return all originals along with the digitized copies.

Greater Boston Locals: We offer direct drop-off and pickup at our Brookline location. If travel is difficult for you, we may be able to arrange pick-up by request.

We follow strict COVID safety protocols for drop-off and delivery. Our infection control process meets or exceeds all current guidelines.

Non-Local clients: we recommend shipping originals with tracking service and requesting signature required.

We have decades of experience storing, and preserving media. You can trust us to handle each piece of your precious media with the utmost care as if it was our own. Our home includes a dedicated workspace for our media services. We only use professional-grade equipment to transfer your media. We also follow industry best practices for storage, restoration, preservation, and digitization. With few exceptions, we will be the only ones to handle your originals. (We work with a trusted lab on projects that include developing still color film or movie film.)
